My first trip to NYC was with my mom after my high school graduation. We stayed at the Park Lane in Central Park South, half a block from FAO Schwartz, Bergdorf Goodman, and across the street from Central Park. We spent a week going to the theater, eating bialys, shopping on Fifth Avenue, feigning celebrities sighting, and walking for miles in the park. Coming from a small town in the smallest state New York felt like a wild adventure.
With so much to see and do, every visit to the Big Apple feels like my first. I love the energy and freedom. It's the place that Patti Smith wrote Horses and Diane Arbus made black and white photos. Although it was my first love, it is not my last. I love LA, SF, and Chicago too. But New York is still an important love because it made all the others possible.
What will your Park Lane story be?
