“Women understand. We may share experiences, make jokes, paint pictures, and describe humiliations that mean nothing to men, but women understand. The odd thing about these deep and personal connections of women is that they often ignore barriers of age, economics, worldly experience, race, culture — all the barriers that, in male or mixed society, had seemed so difficult to cross.”
― Gloria Steinem
My middle school yearbook was filled with notes from my BFFs. Detailed notes of forever-lasting bonds and plans for summers at the beach. As we grow up we no longer have books to detail the highlights of our year. But the friendships forged in my 20s are deeper, less dramatic, and reflective of the most significant years of my life. The people I've kept close in the past 5 years are the same friends I hope to have until I grow old.
In my 30s I am grateful for my friend Krysta. She has seen the successes and failures of my 20s. She takes me for who I am rather than who I used to be. She understands life gets busy and maybe we fall out of touch sometimes. But it's okay.
Every girl thinks her friends are beautiful. But aside from Krysta's stunning looks she is impossibly cool, clever, and funny. Actually, she's really funny. She makes a Whole Foods apron, Linda Ronstadt hair circa 1970, and Japantown karaoke look good. She has a knack for wearing exactly the right things, from oversized sweaters to silky blouses to ballet flats, and turning them into classics.
I'm very pleased with my Tradlands purchases. I first noticed you on a blog (Modern Hepburn), a picture of a girl in a canoe wearing a white shirt caught my attention. The shirt that I got from you reminded me of a linen JCrew shirt that I had about 25 years ago. I wore that shirt until it fell apart, and I've been looking for another one for years. I have three shirts from you now and the fit is perfect and the quality is exceptional.
Love your shirts. Now have 3. The fit is what sold me — I can actually buy a medium and it fits my body. In Steven Alan I have to buy a large and though I do like their shirts as well, you have weaned me off them and onto yours. They wash well and come out of the drier pretty neat.
Wow, what spectacular customer service you all have. I got my beautiful shirt just in time for a trip from California to Maine last week, and it served me perfectly. I absolutely love it! It was my second purchase from Tradlands, and I am equally as pleased with it as I am with my Farallon Islands shirt.
