It’s the time of year that we all get a little mushy and start gushing over the people we love. We send flowers, give gifts and share our secret feelings. Things are no different around these parts, and in this post we’re sharing a few of the brands we just can’t get enough of.
Brand love goes far beyond appreciating the styling of their imagery or their product line — it goes deep, into the ethos and core messaging of the brand. As we build more of a conscientious, sustainable focus for Tradlands (while maintaining and growing our signature striking look), these brands are bringing in a whole lot of inspiration.
And to share the love a little a bit more, we’ve got a special offer just for you. When you refer a friend to Tradlands at the moment, you’ll get $40 off your next purchase when they pick up a shirt. They’ll get $25 off too. Click here to send this little invite off to your lady loves, and then let’s get up close and personal with these gorgeous brands.
Based in Berlin, Anushka writes about all things style. She wrote the book The Curated Closet, and her whole site is dedicated to building a collection of pieces that make you look and feel your best.
Her book is an extremely thorough (and beautiful) guide to helping you create a closet that draws out your personal style. The blog covers an impressive range of material within the “fashion” niche — from how to ‘edit’ your wardrobe and refresh your look, to fair fashion and how to build an ethical collection on any budget.
Anuschka is practical, too, sharing step-by-step guides to get your sizing right (her bra guide is coming with me on my next shopping expedition), how to shop effectively, and how to practice minimalism. She covers how to develop a signature look (for both your clothing and makeup), and has a delightfully down-to-earth approach to all her work. She acknowledges the challenges of shifting away from the high-consumption lifestyle and shares simple, elegant solutions to help you keep moving.
Caroline, the owner of Unfancy, created a capsule wardrobe in 2014 after realizing that she had mountains of clothes she didn’t like, and had only bought to make herself better. She decided that for 3 months, she would wear a small, intentional collection of just 37 items… and never looked back.
The result, as she puts it, was a smaller closet, intentional purchases, less shopping, and more joy.
The key focus at Unfancy is learning how (and why) to build a capsule wardrobe of your own. Caroline goes into great detail sharing how to DIY a capsule wardrobe, how to plan the pieces you’ll focus on, and she’s even got an app that can help you mix and match your items to create looks you love.
Unfancy is sleek and polished, but doesn’t shy away from the big questions around paring back your wardrobe, either. Her Instagram is full of her outfits, and it’s inspiring to see how she mixes and matches each piece for a completely different look each time.
This beautiful lifestyle site was created by Kate Arends, and is ‘dedicated to designing a life well lived.’ Kate and her team built a beautiful studio, and from their bright space cover topics as diverse as decor and interiors, motherhood, health and wellness, DIY and design, fashion, style, food and more. It’s a smorgasbord of delights.
The renovation category showcases swoon-worthy home styling, while the fashion and style section highlights some great brands and looks to factor into your carefully curated wardrobe. The Wit & Delight team do a lot of styling, so everything is picture-perfect — but is still real enough that you feel like you’re peeking into your glamorous friend’s living room or closet.
Kate has done a great job at bringing together the idea that everything in your life is connected, and that you can design every element if you are willing to spend a little time with it. We love this concept and encourage you to take a little Wit & Delight with you each day.
