with Ashleigh
Ashleigh is one of the Ambassadors in our program, the Worn Well Collective. We are so thrilled and honored to be working with her and so many other talented creators in the slow and ethical fashion niche.Â
Name: Ashleigh Becker
Intro: Hi! I’m Ashleigh, a wife, mom of 4 amazing kids and founder of Sela Designs, a jewelry company that donates all profit to stop human trafficking and care for orphans. I’m very passionate about ethics in the fashion industry and making sure that garment workers are treated with dignity and respect, which is one of the many reasons why I love Tradlands.
City: Appleton, WI
IG Handle: @seladesigns
My style is classic with modern touches. I love having a small wardrobe of well-made basics that can be mixed and matched with great accessories to add a touch of a trend or fun pops of color.
My work and family keep me very busy, but I love traveling whenever I can. I most recently took my 2 boys to Colorado and loved every minute of it. The summit of Pike’s Peak was an amazing experience & Garden of the Gods.

I started my slow fashion journey after reading about the Rana Plaza collapse. I had 3 very young kids, a small budget and a fast fashion habit I needed to quit. I like to call it the perfect storm - once I knew about the 1100+ people who lost their lives in the collapse I couldn’t go back to fast fashion. I completely stopped shopping and committed to only buying ethical fashion or secondhand clothing.
I’m obsessed with Tradlands sweaters and everyone knows it. I live in WI, so it’s very cold for 5-6 months of the year. I live in Tradlands sweaters year-round, especially Jude sweaters and my Shelter Cardigan.

Start by stopping. Be willing to take the journey slowly. Wear what you have. Figure out what you really need and then slowly add to your closet as your budget allows. Buy quality over quantity.
I want to raise $50k to help empower women and girls around the world. Whether it’s women in Afghanistan or funding rescues for girls being trafficked, I want to be a woman who supports other women. They deserve freedom just as much as I do.
Thank you so much, Ashleigh!
