Getting dressed in the summer doesn’t have to be challenging and it certainly doesn’t have to be uncomfortable. Linen is a popular sustainable fabric and something we have fallen in love with for our spring and summer collections. It’s beautiful on its own or as a blend and can complement so many styles. Blouses, button-ups, jumpsuits, dresses, and so much more.
When you look at our labels you’ll see linen often and we didn’t choose this fabric by mistake. It’s got an array of benefits for the environment and advantages for how perfectly effortless it makes our clothes look and feel.
Linen is a highly absorbent, breathable fabric made from flax. It’s one of the best fabric choices for keeping cool in the heat and gets better with time. Linen is one of those materials that “breaks in” with time - almost forming to your body and getting better with each wear. Linen is a naturally textured fabric which gives it added dimension in the look of the clothing, but also in its strength and durability.
In comparison to other top fabrics, it’s more sustainable than cotton due to the fact that it requires so much less water. Using flax to create the linen also produces a lot less waste than other options as well. The flax plant is a bit more hearty and doesn’t require the use of herbicides, pesticides, or fungicides to grow easily which makes a much more bountiful harvest and in turn, more linen material to go around.
We feature this soft, multi-dimensional fabric in many of our pieces in our shop. From button-ups, jumpsuits, dresses, and more, we work with linen often and have also found a lot of positive feedback with a classic linen + Tencel blend as well. Working with linen creates an effortless style in how the fabric naturally falls and looks, and blending that with one of our other favorites, Tencel, creates a sturdy, great-looking, and high-quality piece of clothing that you’ll be able to love for a long time. Finding beautiful Tencel clothing isn't hard either.
While we were drawn to linen for the numerous benefits and the sustainability of the fabric, we really enjoy how it looks as well. Our style is effortless, classic, and uncomplicated - linen makes it easy to create clothes that are just that.

Linen is a sturdy, yet breathable fabric with a crisp feel. It’s cool, lightweight, and is one of our top sellers for spring and summer pieces, but is featured in collections year-round as well. To care for linen properly, be sure to hand or machine wash as gently as possible with cold or cool water. We recommend either a gentle, tumble dry on low heat or just hang these items to dry.
We find that if washed too often, it causes even the strongest of fabrics to break down more quickly. Our advice? Only washing when absolutely necessary. This fabric gets softer and has that “lived-in” feel over time and it will break down and potentially fade if washed too often.
Linen is also known for its easy-going raw appearance. Some might just call this wrinkly. Either way, you can leave this item unpressed for a more natural, worn appearance, or press these items with low to medium heat steam to rid the fabric of wrinkles for a more professional appearance. Linen is not a particularly elastic fabric and when washed, it may appear to have shrunk, but with low to medium heat steam after a wash or some gentle pulling to its original shape while damp and before hang drying, it will return to the size it came in.
